Strongroom
Evil Genius[edit]
Every evil genius loves gold, and it's not hard to see why. Gold has been the standard that has propped up all the major economies in the world and no self-respecting Evil Genius would consider embarking on a plan of evil world domination without a decent stack of the glittering bars. A strongroom is essential to store your loot and keep it safe. The gold pile in the strongroom is a visible representation of your resources — the more cash you have, the larger the pile of gold.
The strongroom acts as a hub for all purchases. Whenever you order something to be built, your minions will rush to the Strongroom to get the gold needed to fund your scheme. Clearly it isn't good to be doing business with minions carrying gold bars around, so you also need to build some briefcase racks to allow your minions to make clandestine purchases. Lastly, the strongroom is likely to be a target for thieves once your Notoriety has risen, so guard it well.
If minions cannot access any briefcase racks because of high door security or an object blocking their paths, you will be unable to collect or spend any money until the obstruction is cleared. If you only possess one strongroom with a briefcase rack, the game will not allow you to destroy any other corridors or rooms whose destruction would prevent minions from accessing the briefcase rack, which would prevent you from being able to build any new rooms or objects. To get around this, simply move a briefcase rack to another strongroom, even a temporary one, so you'll keep uninterrupted access to your gold.
Minions who desert your Evil Organization due to low loyalty may decide to help themselves to a gold bar if they're near a strongroom that contains gold at the time they desert.
Gold bars are stored in stacks that are ten bars wide, four bars deep, and twenty bars tall, for eight hundred bars in total. One gold bar is worth $500, while a full stack of gold bars is worth $400,000. Each stack takes up one floor tile in a strongroom, blocking movement but not vision.
